Between the dedicated server cost, hosting fees, yearly domain fees, and bandwidth, it costs over $3000 per year (about $250 per month) to run and maintain MovieKids. This amount does not count the costs of the computer equipment, DVDs, VHS, and other items we have to purchase each month in order to make the caps. In order to keep MovieKids going, we must raise money to cover the monthly fees. We do this by asking for donations and through sales on Amazon. From our Amazon sales we get between 4%-6% of the sale. So a DVD that sales for $9.95 we get between 0.39 and 0.60 referral fee. This normally nets us about $15-$20 per month.
