Review: Hello! This is my forty-eighth film review. There are some films that you still remember, long after you seen them for that one and only time. "Uncle Silas" is mine. Whther it is because of the performances by Jean Simmons and Derrick de Marney. Whether it's because of the story by Sheridan Le Fanu, upon which the film is based. Or, whether it's because of the violence in the film: a woman is killed by a hatchet, a man is ran over by a carriage, and another man shoots and kills himself. This film works.
