Plot Summary for "D.A.R.Y.L. (1985)"

Great movie.
One day a young boy is found in the wildreness by an elderly couple, who take him to social services to care for him.
A foster family is found for him to stay at,,, except the boy doesn't remember who he is,,, just his name.
The boy (Daryl) and the family start bonding over time and Darly takes part in the little leaguers, helping them to win. His photo is recognised by the government and they show up, pretending to be his parents, to take him "home".
Eventually, its becomes clear the Darly is not a true boy... but a machine in a boys body, except this machine has learned to be a boy.
When the military orders the termination of Project Daryl, the scientist responsible for him (Josef Sommer) believes that they have no right to kill a boy, something he believes that Daryl has become. He fools the military into thinking the project was terminated, whilst escaping with the boy.
But the military soon are on his tail, in search of Daryl, the Data Analysing Robot Youth Life-Form.
Great movie and Barret was great in this film (as he always was).

Between the dedicated server cost, hosting fees, yearly domain fees, and bandwidth, it costs over $3000 per year (about $250 per month) to run and maintain MovieKids. This amount does not count the costs of the computer equipment, DVDs, VHS, and other items we have to purchase each month in order to make the caps. In order to keep MovieKids going, we must raise money to cover the monthly fees. We do this by asking for donations and through sales on Amazon. From our Amazon sales we get between 4%-6% of the sale. So a DVD that sales for $9.95 we get between 0.39 and 0.60 referral fee. This normally nets us about $15-$20 per month. That still leaves a big chunk to cover. So you see in order to keep MovieKids going, we strongly encourage you to purchase your DVDs through the links on this site r make a donation to the site. Please really consider this as you surf through the site. Thank you for your support!
